Wonderful, very original Japanese variety. Moderately vigorous (2–3 m), with large, always double dark blue flowers. The plant looks beautiful both in the garden on arbors, pergolas, and fences, as well as in containers on balconies or terraces. It is frost-resistant and low-maintenance. Ideal for cultivation in Polish climatic conditions. Prefers sunny or semi-shaded spots that are sheltered from the wind. Dislikes heavy clay or very light soils. The soil should be fertile, humus-rich, well-drained and moist, with a pH of 6.0–7.0.
Wonderful, very original Japanese variety. Moderately vigorous (2–3 m), with large, always double dark blue flowers. The plant looks beautiful both in the garden and in pots on balconies or terraces. It is frost-resistant and low-maintenance. Ideal for cultivation in Polish climatic conditions.
Use: Climbs beautifully on pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports such as coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and subshrubs. Grows excellently in large containers on balconies, terraces, and in small gardens.
Flowering: From May until the end of August.
Position: Any
Care: Plant clematis 5 cm deeper than it was growing in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the seedling with bark. Shade the base with low plants, and before winter, cover the base with bark up to 10–20 cm high. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6–7), and well-aerated soil. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: Flowers in spring on last year’s shoots, so in February–March, remove dead and diseased stems and prune living, healthy ones lightly. In the first year after planting: cut 30 cm above ground, in the second year: 70 cm, and in subsequent years: 150 cm from the ground.
