Use: Climbs beautifully on pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports such as coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and subshrubs.
Flowering: From July to October.
Position: East, west, south.
Care: Plant clematis 5 cm deeper than it was growing in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the seedling with bark. Shade the base with low-growing plants, and before winter, cover with bark up to 10–20 cm high. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6–7), well-drained soils. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: This variety flowers on current year's shoots, so prune hard between February and March. In the first year after planting, cut 30 cm above ground above strong buds, 40 cm in the second year, and 50 cm in following years.
