This is a very early and abundantly flowering botanical variety with small, semi-full, dark violet flowers. In autumn, it is covered with ornamental, fluffy fruit clusters. The plant is very frost-hardy and low-maintenance, making it ideal for cultivation under Polish climatic conditions. It climbs very beautifully on pergolas, fences, and gazebos. It prefers a sunny and partially shaded location that is sheltered from strong, cold winds. The soil should be fertile, well-draining, and moderately moist.
This is a very early and abundantly flowering botanical variety with small, semi-full, dark violet flowers. In autumn, it is covered with ornamental, fluffy fruit clusters. The plant is very frost-hardy and low-maintenance. It is ideal for cultivation under Polish climatic conditions.
Application: It climbs wonderfully on pergolas, fences, walls, gazebos, trellises, and natural supports such as coniferous trees, deciduous trees, shrubs, and small bushes. It also presents beautifully as a groundcover plant.
Blooming: Very early – from April until the end of May, and again in August.
Exposure: Suitable for any exposure.
Care: Plant the clematis 5 cm deeper than it grew in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the plant with bark. Shade the base using, for example, low-growing shrubs, and before winter cover the base with bark up to 10–20 cm high. It grows best in fertile, humus-rich, well-draining soils rich in calcium (pH 6–7). Begin fertilizing in April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: It is not pruned at all, as the variety blooms on old, last year’s shoots. In order to limit its spreading, pruning is carried out only after flowering, and not lower than 1 m above the ground.
