A unique variety of clematis. It stands out for its ornamental, evergreen leaves and exceptionally early flowering period. The first flowers appear at the end of March, and it looks its best in April and May. Due to the early flowering period, it is recommended for pots and containers.
Care and requirements: Prefers sunny spots (with shade around the roots). It is a moderately demanding plant, thriving best in humus-rich, fertile, well-draining, and non-wet soil. From April, systematic fertilization is recommended. The variety is moderately frost-resistant, making it ideal for growing in containers indoors.
Flowering: This variety blooms very abundantly. It flowers from March to May with beautiful white flowers with a pale green center. The flowers are fragrant. An additional advantage is its ornamental, evergreen leaves.
Planting: When planting, make sure the lower part of the vine is shaded/covered, for example by higher shrubs. It is recommended to mulch the plant with bark to prevent weed growth and soil drying out.
Pruning: Light pruning is recommended in late autumn or early spring. It involves removing damaged or dead branches. The rest should be shortened by about 20 cm.
Usage: It reaches about 2.5-3 meters in height. Like all clematis, it climbs well, so it should be planted near trellises or supports. It can be grown in pots or containers, making it ideal for indoor or conservatory cultivation.
