A very original and attractive Japanese variety growing up to 2-3 meters, with purple flowers that are large and double, featuring exceptionally long creamy stamens in the center. This variety is successfully cultivated throughout Poland, frost-resistant, low-maintenance, and, most importantly, blooms very abundantly and beautifully twice a year! Clematis grows best in a sunny and sheltered location.
Application: It climbs beautifully on pergolas, fences, walls, gazebos, trellises, and natural supports such as coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and small bushes. It also grows wonderfully in large pots on balconies, terraces, and in small gardens.
Flowering: From May to June and again in August.
Exposure: Any.
Care: Plant clematis 5 cm deeper than it grew in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the plant with bark. Shade the base with low shrubs, for example, and before winter cover it with bark up to a height of 10-20 cm. It grows best in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6-7), and well-aerated soils. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: Spring flowering occurs on last year's shoots, so in late February and early March, remove dead and diseased shoots, and lightly trim healthy shoots. In the first year after planting, trim 30 cm above the ground above strong buds, in the second year 70 cm, and in subsequent years 150 cm above the ground.
