The flowers, gathered in large copper‑pink panicles, appear in late summer (late August to early September) and remain decorative until the end of the growing season, as well as throughout winter.

This grass requires fertile, consistently moist soil and a sunny or slightly shaded position. Younger plants should be protected from frost. Recommended for planting in borders, near water features, in ornamental grass gardens, or in naturalistic plantings – either singly or in groups. Also suitable for dried flower arrangements.
