A showy perennial grass forming clumps up to 2.5 m tall. The arching, wide leaves are bicoloured – striped with a green centre and creamy-white edges. The flowers, gathered in large copper-pink panicles, appear in late summer (late August, early September) and decorate the plant until the end of the season, and even throughout winter. This grass requires fertile, consistently moist soil and a sunny or slightly shaded position. Younger plants should be protected from frost. Recommended for planting in borders, near water features, in ornamental grass gardens, or in naturalistic plantings – either singly or in groups. Also suitable for dried flower arrangements.
