Chinese silver grass is an ornamental plant. It forms dense, attractive clumps that can reach up to 250 cm in height. It has dark green leaves with a white stripe down the center. The flowering period is from September to November.
This miscanthus produces tall, white inflorescences that gradually turn silvery over time. The leaves become red-orange in autumn. 'Memory' miscanthus prefers sunny locations, although light shade is also tolerated.
The plant requires fertile, moist and well-drained soil. It overwinters in the ground, but during severe frosts, it is recommended to protect the plant.
The grass should be cut back in early spring. Miscanthus can be grown in groups or individually. It is perfect for home gardens, parks, flower beds, and for planting around ponds or water features.
