Chinese silvergrass is an ornamental plant forming dense, impressive clumps that can reach up to 250 cm in height. It has dark green leaves with a white stripe in the centre. The flowering period lasts from September to November. This miscanthus produces tall, white inflorescences that gradually turn silver. The leaves become red‑orange in autumn. Miscanthus ‘Memory’ prefers sunny locations, though light shade is acceptable. It requires fertile, moist and well‑drained soil. It overwinters in the ground, but during severe frosts it is recommended to protect the plant. The grass should be cut back in early spring. Miscanthus can be grown in groups or as a solitary specimen. It is perfect for home gardens, parks, flowerbeds and for planting near ponds or water features.
