The Chinese Miscanthus 'Silberspinne' is a very ornamental and tall variety. It forms large, compact clumps made up of long leaves. The leaves are narrow at the bottom and widen towards the top. They hang outward, creating fountain-shaped clumps.

The flower heads are very ornamental and appear at the end of summer. At first, they have a slightly pinkish color, which later turns silvery.

It prefers sunny, warm spots sheltered from strong and cold winds. The soil should be fertile, well-drained, and moderately moist. The plant is frost-resistant, but young seedlings should be covered with branches or sawdust for winter protection.

Miscanthus looks great by water features, in home gardens, or in urban greenery.
