Ceanothus 'Marie Simon' is a unique semi-evergreen shrub growing to about 50–100 cm in height and 1 m in width. It features beautiful pale pink flowers gathered in large panicles that enhance its ornamental value. The inflorescences resemble lilac flowers, and the reddish shoots add charm to the plant. Flowers last for 3–4 months, from July to October. In our climate, it blooms only at the end of summer, which is quite impressive for a shrub. Aside from the flowers, its decoration includes small, oval, dark green leaves that remain on the plant throughout the year in mild frost. The plant tolerates moderate frosts but prefers a warmer climate. It should be planted in a location protected from strong and cold winds. Plant it in the ground in spring. Both young and mature plants should be protected for winter, and the soil mulched with a thick layer of bark.
