Buddleja alternifolia, also known as the alternate-leaved butterfly bush, is a spreading shrub that grows up to 2 meters in height and similar width in Polish climate conditions. Its pink flowers appear in June, gathered in spherical clusters about 4 cm in diameter and are very strongly fragrant. The leaves are dark green and lance-shaped. Position: The plant prefers sunny, sheltered locations and is frost-hardy. Soil: Requires fertile, humus-rich and moist soil. The pH can be neutral or alkaline. Use: It can be grown in pots on balconies or terraces. It looks very attractive as a background for other low shrubs such as ground cover roses or Japanese spirea.
