It is frost‑resistant down to –34°C and highly tolerant to pests and diseases. Use: Suitable for container cultivation on terraces and balconies. Recommended both for group plantings and as a single specimen. Blueberry fruits support heart and eye health, contain antioxidants and compounds that help reduce cholesterol levels. They are excellent both as fresh dessert fruit and for processing. Flowering and fruiting: Flowering occurs from April to May. In spring the shrub is covered with numerous small white flowers gathered in loose clusters. In the second half of summer, attractive fruits appear in their place. The berries are large, tasty, slightly flattened, light navy‑blue with a blue bloom, medium‑firm and flavourful. Yields are quite abundant; the fruit is ready for harvest about a week after full colouring, usually in the second half of August. Blueberries are low‑calorie and rich in minerals, vitamins and pectins. In autumn the leaves turn beautiful shades of carmine‑red to deep purple. Care: Requires acidic soil with a pH of 4–5, or even 3.5–4. On light soils irrigation is essential. Prefers a sunny position. Pruning: Older shrubs should be thinned by removing diseased or overly dense shoots.
