This is a so-called highbush blueberry. 'Duke' is a fruit shrub belonging to the species of American blueberry, characterized by very vigorous growth and early, abundant fruiting. It starts fruiting about 10 days before the 'Bluecrop' variety. The berries vary in size – the first are very large, the later ones medium-sized. Thanks to their firmness, they store and transport very well. The shoots are stiff and upright, and the growth is very strong. 'Duke' is comparable to the 'Bluecrop' variety. The site should be sunny, sheltered from the wind, and the soil should be well-drained. Blueberries prefer acidic soil. They also require a lot of moisture but do not tolerate waterlogging.
