Late-ripening, very tasty blueberry with large aromatic fruits. Strong-growing shrub up to 160–180 cm. Requires acidic soil and a sunny position.
Highbush blueberry ‘Elizabeth’ is considered one of the tastiest varieties among highbush blueberries. In Western Europe it is highly valued for its late and abundant fruiting. Recommended both for commercial plantations and home gardens. The shrub grows very vigorously and reaches a height of about 160–180 cm.
Flowering: Bell-shaped flowers, white or slightly pink, appear in April–May.
Ripening and fruiting: The fruits are large, dark, very tasty and aromatic. They begin to ripen at the end of August. Due to their health benefits, the fruits are especially recommended for fresh consumption.
Position: Requires a warm, sunny site. Grows best in acidic, light and well-drained soil with a pH of 3.8–4.8.
Care and pruning: Until the 4th year after planting, it is recommended to remove diseased, creeping and broken shoots and to fertilize the shrubs from the end of April to June. The plant is disease-resistant and frost-hardy (down to -24°C).
