Highbush blueberry 'Patriot' is one of the most valuable early-ripening cultivars. It is frost-resistant and produces very large and exceptionally aromatic fruits. This variety is very productive. The navy blue fruits with a blue waxy coating begin to ripen at the beginning of July. The firm, tasty berries are perfect as dessert fruits and for preserves; they retain their flavor when frozen. It is a long-lived, easy-to-grow plant that rewards with beautiful, long-lasting flowering.

Use: This variety is recommended for amateur cultivation and commercial plantations. Due to its large, tasty, and aromatic fruits, it is ideal for fresh consumption, desserts, baking, freezing, and preserves. It grows moderately vigorously to 120 cm and up to 180 cm in optimal conditions. Suitable for cultivation throughout Poland due to its high frost resistance (down to -30°C or even -40°C) and resistance to root disease Phytophthora.

Ripening: Early variety, fruits begin to ripen in mid-July. It blooms abundantly with white or slightly pink flowers. Leaves are green, turning color in autumn, and falling in winter.

Fruiting: Large, oval, slightly flattened, navy blue fruits with a blue wax coating, firm, tasty, very aromatic, gathered in large, dense clusters. Later harvests produce smaller berries. Up to 9 kg of fruit can be harvested from one bush.

Care: Requires strongly acidic soil with a pH of 3.5–4, rich in humus. The variety also tolerates heavier, wet soils. In soils with low acidity, bushes may become stunted and not bear fruit.

Exposure: Prefers warm, sunny locations. Requires strong pruning and flower thinning due to abundant blooming.
