Very frost-hardy blueberry (to -37°C) with small, dark fruits rich in antioxidants. Ideal for mechanical harvesting. Strong-growing shrub up to 2–3 m.
Use: Perfectly suited for mechanical harvesting. The fruits are characterized by a very high content of antioxidants with anti-cancer properties. The plant is also melliferous.
Flowering and fruiting: The flowers are white and bloom in May. The fruits are small, dark, gathered in long, loose clusters. They ripen late, at the turn of July and August.
Care: Requires a sunny position and moderately moist, acidic, humus-rich soil.
Additional information: ‘Rubel’ is a highbush blueberry variety with very high frost resistance (down to -37°C). The shrub grows vigorously up to 2–3 m, has a spreading habit and bears fruit abundantly and regularly. Prefers a sunny, wind-sheltered site and well-drained soil. Likes moist soil but does not tolerate waterlogging.
