The tree is highly honey-producing and very fragrant. It belongs to the legume family. It reaches a height of 25 meters. The tree grows for 40 years, after which its growth stops.
The leaves of the Acacia are very decorative, composed of single, elliptical or ovate leaflets, which develop fairly late and remain on the tree for a long time.
The flowers of the Acacia are white, strongly fragrant, and are gathered in larger, drooping clusters. It blooms from May to June and is able to repeat this after a few months. The Acacia is most spectacular at this time. The flowers develop into fruits (pods), containing seeds, and their length is 10 centimeters.
The Acacia grows where it is dry and warm. It does not have high soil requirements but does not thrive in heavy, clayey, or wet soils.
The Acacia in Poland spreads in the natural environment as a settled species. It is a tree that does not live long, its maximum lifespan is 150 years.
