Moderately vigorous variety (2–4 m) with large, bicolored flowers – intense pink with a white central stripe and yellow stamens. The plant looks stunning in the garden as well as in containers on balconies or terraces. Frost-resistant and low-maintenance, ideal for cultivation in Polish climatic conditions.
Use: Perfect for climbing on pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports like coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and subshrubs.
Flowering: From May to October.
Exposure: East, west, or north-facing.
Care: Plant 5 cm deeper than it grew in the pot and at least 30 cm from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the plant with bark. Shade the base with low shrubs; before winter, cover the base with bark to a height of 10–20 cm. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6–7), well-aerated soil. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: Blooms on last year’s wood, so in late February or early March remove dead and diseased stems, and prune healthy ones lightly: 30 cm above ground in the first year, 70 cm in the second year, and 150 cm in subsequent years.
